Youth Club Helper

Role

On Sunday afternoons we host a youth club for 8 to 14 year olds. We start setting up around 2pm, doors open at 2.30pm and we are typically cleared away by 5.30pm.

Some weeks we have guests running workshops such as DJing, bike maintenance, kickboxing etc, and other weeks we organise arts & crafts, board games and table tennis. Twice a month, Send It Skate bring their portable skate park.

We've got a great group of volunteers supporting our youth worker, but to make sure that everyone gets weekends off, we need a couple more.

If you like spending time with children, don't mind a bit of work setting up tables and making sandwiches, and either have a clean enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training or you're willing to get them (we'll cover all costs), please get in touch.

Responsibilities include setting up tables, making sandwiches or similar snacks, signing children in and out of the session, clearing away after the session and making a note of anything that needs repairing or replacing.

We always have at least two and ideally three adults present at the session so you'll never be on your own. We hope to recruit enough volunteers that each person only needs to come along once a month.
