Volunteer trustee

Thrive Manchester is a small health charity working across Greater Manchester to support people affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma. Our work focuses on raising awareness about the impact of childhood adversity and trauma as well as offering groups and activities that are trauma responsive and support resilience. To significantly support community-wide prevention and healing from trauma requires partnership and collaboration and so it matters to us that we work with members of our community and other organisations across GM.

Role

We’re on the lookout for new enthusiastic trustees to join our board and help support us to develop and move forward with Thrive MCR’s future. You don’t need to have been a trustee before, and lots of us on the board are first-time trustees! You just need an interest and a passion for our cause, and a willingness to contribute your skills and ideas.

As a trustee, you’ll play an important role in shaping the charity’s direction and ensuring we stay true to our mission. Together with fellow trustees and the CEO, you’ll:
- Help set and oversee Thrive MCR’s strategy and goals
- Support good governance and ensure we meet our legal and ethical responsibilities
- Bring your unique skills and experience to help us grow and improve
- Promote a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the charity
- Champion co-production, working alongside the people we serve to shape our work
- Learn about and support our focus on trauma-informed and trauma-responsive approaches

We especially value people with lived experience of trauma, neurodivergence, disability, or caring for children with additional needs, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and LGBTQIA+ members. We believe everyone’s contribution matters.
