Hey there!
We are a small community group, run by women, with a variation of people in our organisation, from neurodivergent to LGBTQI+ individuals. We want to create a friendly, welcoming and open space that everyone feels comfortable being a part of.
Our volunteer roles vary, although this post is for a specific role, but if you feel that your skills would best fit in another way please do let us know your thoughts :)

Role

We are in the incredible position of, hopefully, securing our very own space in Stockport centre to create a highstreet recycling hub for the community. A place to run educational and creative workshops, create recycled plastic art installations, run open family friendly events, a place for the community to drop off their donations and see them be transformed into new incredible things, instead of ending up in landfill or being burned. It's a truly exciting time!
This new space used to be a shoe shop but has been left unoccupied for some time now and is in need of some attention.
- Walls needs fresh paint in Plastic Shed orange
- Some areas need wall paper removing
- 1 small wall needs replastering
- top floor carpet could do with being replaced
- fixed wall features removed, and the wall behind it cleaning up
- Some light fixtures need fixing
- Electrical installation and machine installation
- other general building work and maintenance

We find new and creative ways to reuse plastic waste locally, whilst simultaneously bringing the community together, giving people the power to help make a direct impact. We do this through educational and creative workshops, a small product range and through large scale art installations.
