Volunteer Drivers

Grove Lane Day Centre providers support and companionship to older people living the Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme , Heald Green and Bramhall areas. Most of our clients live alone and the day centre is a life line in preventing social isolation.
We are all volunteers who provide this support and we urgently need to expand the number of volunteer drivers to help get people to the centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays .
You would need to have access and use of a car to collect clients at 10am and them deliver them home at 1.30 . We aim to match clients and volunteers in an area to minimise travelling . Without having voltmeters drivers these people would not be able to get out so its a really vital service

Role

the role requires that volunteers have a suitable car. A full driving license . Good communication skills and reasonable knowledge of the area .

Grove lane day centre and luncheon club is located with Grove Lane Baptist Church and offers a welcoming environment for older people seeking companionship and home cooked nutritious meals . The centre operates on Tuesday and Thursday and is staffed entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers. We welcome clients from the local area irrespective of of the abilities.
