Stockport Refugee Support Group Drop in Helper

REF: 69e4c97e69fdb

At Stockport Refugee Support Group (SRSG) we provide a weekly Drop-in to support and befriend Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the Stockport area. It is a lively, busy, warm, well attended and welcoming meeting place which is open every Saturday between 11.45am and 3pm in central Stockport.
SRSG was formed in 2001 and has grown from strength to strength.
We offer a hot meal, play space for children, English conversation classes, food bags, advice and guidance and a meeting place for the whole family.

Role

We are looking for volunteers with an interest in helping out in any of the three main areas - the kitchen as cooks or helpers, the play space, playing with the children or contributing to the English conversation classes, as well as helping with general set up at the start and clean up at the end.
Above all we are looking for people who are willing to join in and adapt to what is required on the day. All the workers are volunteers and we work co-operatively. That means that we may ask you to be flexible if the need arises
We appreciate any extra skills volunteers are willing to offer, such as crafting, cooking, art, music and languages.
