We also rely on our army of over 500 volunteers who support us in so many ways – from supporting staff on our wards and working in our charity shops to tending to the hospice gardens. We simply couldn’t continue to provide our care without their help and are hugely grateful to each and every one of them for all their support.

Role

Moya Cole Hospice seeks volunteers for its specialist bridal and vintage boutique in Stockport, which features new and pre-loved gowns, accessories, and bridesmaid outfits. Volunteers provide customer service, style guidance, and help with fittings, with roles available for passionate individuals supporting hospice funds.
Duties also include sorting through donations of clothing and bric-a-brac. Preparing items for display and creating vibrant window and in store displays. Giving excellent customer service and using an EPOS till (Full training given) Updating shop social media pages to engage with local communities. Promoting in store sales and promotions.
Volunteering Hours: Various hours (Minimum 3 hour shifts) Tuesday to Saturday 9:00am – 16:30pm We’re also seeking individuals (over 18 years of age due to safeguarding requirements) who want to contribute on a more flexible basis and be part of a supportive volunteer crew. No need to commit to specific hours or fixed schedules – we’ll simply reach out to you whenever we need an extra pair of hands or assistance with events. It’s a great opportunity to make a difference whenever it suits you!

Organisation description:

We are a charity, and we support patients right across Greater Manchester from our two hospice sites in Heald Green, Stockport and Little Hulton, Salford. We also have dedicated Hospice@Home and specialist community teams who care for people in a place they call home. The support we provide is based around the individual needs of the person and what is important to them. Some people are referred to us for care right at the end of their lives, perhaps after a hospital stay. For others, we help by managing their symptoms so they can continue to live as full a life as possible. We have patients who receive outpatient support from us too. We also provide emotional support – helping people come to terms with the results of their diagnosis, and also supporting families including after the death of their loved one.
