Volunteer • We’re proud to care • We’re proud to work together • We’re proud to make a difference At Moya Cole Hospice, there’s one thing that motivates us, and that’s providing excellent care and support to those living with or affected by life-limiting illnesses. We’re continuously developing our plans for delivering world-class, innovative care and to ensure Moya Cole Hospice is in the best shape possible for future generations. You’ll be challenged, inspired, and empowered to help us achieve our purpose and to play your part in making a difference. We also rely on our army of over 500 volunteers who support us in so many ways – from supporting staff on our wards and working in our charity shops to tending to the hospice gardens. We simply couldn’t continue to provide our care without their help and are hugely grateful to each and every one of them for all their support.

Role

Moya Cole Hospice operate a successful online business selling New Goods and donated items on several online platforms. The volunteer role is open to anyone over the age of 18 who would like to join our fun and friendly team based in Stockport at our Distribution centre.

As an Online Sales Volunteer, you will support our organization in generating income through these online platforms such as eBay, Vinted and Shopify. Your efforts will help us raise vital funds to support our mission and expand our impact.

The role includes taking product photos using our photo booth and cameras, writing vibrant item descriptions, researching unusual or Antique items to establish value and helping with marketing and promotion, including the introduction of a social media promotion strategy.

We are looking for people with a passion for various interests including fashion, vintage, music, computers & gaming. The online sales department is a big part of Moya Cole Hospice future trading plans so it is a great opportunity to experience how a busy online operation is run and also to utilise your own interests and skills.

We operate Monday to Friday 8am -4pm and if people want to join us in small groups and work alongside a friend we are more than happy to accommodate! The role isn’t public facing but it is an exciting and vibrant atmosphere with all musical tastes accommodated and allowed to contribute to the days playlist!

We have items coming in daily from our charity shops across Greater Manchester and each delivery provides something unexpected and unique whether it’s a vintage Commodore 64 or the latest designer fashion trends.

The role suits those who have at least basic computer skills and are familiar with eBay & Vinted, although full training is provided. What we are really looking for is someone who enjoys a challenge and is happy to get stuck in and put forward ideas and suggestions on how to improve our online department even further and are looking for a flexible volunteer role that works around their studies and commitments and provides relevant and useful experiences.

This role is an in person role so unfortunately we can't currently accommodate remote working.

Moya Cole Hospice

Organisation description:

We are a charity, and we support patients right across Greater Manchester from our two hospice sites in Heald Green, Stockport and Little Hulton, Salford. We also have dedicated Hospice@Home and specialist community teams who care for people in a place they call home. The support we provide is based around the individual needs of the person and what is important to them. Some people are referred to us for care right at the end of their lives, perhaps after a hospital stay. For others, we help by managing their symptoms so they can continue to live as full a life as possible. We have patients who receive outpatient support from us too. We also provide emotional support – helping people come to terms with the results of their diagnosis, and also supporting families including after the death of their loved one.
