Mens Support Group Team Member

What you’ll be doing:

Managing and facilitating our mens support group for a minimum of 3 hours a week (every Tuesday Afternoon between 11:45am and 14:15pm). An extra 30 minutes of leaders meeting to plan and discuss group strategy and plans required at the times of your choosing.

Tasks involve: providing refreshments (covered by expenses), leading the group meeting, inviting guest speakers, planning activities in collaboration with the attendees and group leaders, setting up the meeting room for the group (displaying games, setting out chairs, displaying fundraising equipment/card reader -as a visual reminder of working together to generate funds)

Extra unspecified group time would be appreciated but not mandatory, to support members while on enrichment outing, estimated 21 hours spread over 12 months period

Organisation description:

We are a men’s peer support group, offering support to men 18 and over who have had various challenges with: mental health, challenges with addictions, isolation and loneliness. We’ve been supporting men in the wider Stockport area since March 2022. We have five meetings across three areas of Stockport and a Members Garden in North Reddish.

We’ve recently been successful in our application to become a CIC. This will hopefully enable our group to secure build for a bigger, more secure and brighter future for our volunteers and members. We have structured and flexible meetings, our members enjoy enrichment outings, we have outside agencies join us on occasions to advice and inform on various points of interest.
