About Stockport Connect Hub
We support people over 18 who are accessing or have accessed secondary mental health services. It is a safe and welcoming space where people can get advice and support. This includes therapeutic activities encouraging people to be active, connect and to improve their wellbeing. There is a good size garden that members develop and maintain.

Why should you volunteer?
This is a good opportunity to help others, use your gardening skills, be active and have a sense of purpose.

What will you be doing?
• To volunteer on a Thursday supporting participants with gardening tasks and projects as well as giving ideas and inspiration to those unsure.
• Help create a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
• To support and encourage people to do their own projects.
• There is the option to plan simple garden activities or themed projects.

For this opportunity, you do need an interest in gardening, nature and the outdoors. You also an understanding of mental illness, empathy and be a people person. It is important that we promote a non-judgmental and stigma free environment.

There is no charge for the DBS. A positive disclosure doesn't always disqualify you from volunteering with us as it would be looked by a case by case basis.
