Casual Volunteer – Open Up, Close Up, Help Out!

We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help with occasional weekend bookings at Rose Walker Community Centre, particularly children's parties and other private events.

The role involves opening the centre, welcoming hirers, showing them around and helping them get settled before returning later to close up. Volunteers don't need to help with set up, stay for the duration of the booking or put anything away. It's simply opening up or securing the building after a session.

The commitment is completely flexible. You might help once every six weeks, once a month or more often, depending on your availability. If we recruit enough volunteers, we may also be able to share the duties so that some volunteers only help with opening or closing.

Full training and a simple checklist are provided, so you'll know exactly what to do. It's a practical way to give a little of your time to support a valuable local community facility.

Rose Walker Community Centre is located within Cheadle Heath Park in Stockport and is run by Cheadle Heath Community Association (CHCA). The centre provides a welcoming space for local residents, community groups and organisations to meet, take part in activities and enjoy events. It is also available to hire for children's parties, meetings, conferences and other gatherings. Supported by volunteers, the centre plays an important role in bringing people together and providing a valuable resource for the local community.
