Gift of Friendship Volunteer

Join the Age UK Stockport team as a befriender in our new Gift of Friendship Programme and help older people build connections, independence, and confidence. Ready to make a difference? As a Befriender you will visit an isolated older person usually once a week to have a chat and develop areas of shared interests to talk about to encourage engagement. You will required to complete some online training and will be supported throughout by the Volunteer Co-ordinators.

Role

Your role will include • Full induction • Full training including Safeguarding, Making Every Contact Count, Building a Positive Volunteering Experience and more • Regular supervision by the Volunteer Manager All volunteers are DBS checked and you will be reimbursed any travel costs incurred.
