Join our friendly team at Wavers Community Café, run by See Beyond CIC at Offerton Community Centre.

We’re looking for a volunteer Conversation Host on Thursdays, 11am–1pm, to offer a warm welcome and company to visitors who would like someone to talk to.

You’ll sit with customers over a cuppa, listen, start conversations and help people feel comfortable joining in. Your time could make a real difference to someone who comes to the café alone.

No previous experience is needed. We value kindness, patience, reliability and an interest in other people.

See Beyond CIC will pay for membership of The Chatty Café Scheme, providing access to host training, resources and ongoing support. Our café team will also provide an induction and support during sessions.

This role focuses on conversation and companionship. You won’t be expected to provide counselling or specialist advice.

Ideally, you’ll be able to attend weekly so visitors can get to know a familiar face.
