Volunteer Chess Club Leader – Under-18s (Friday Afternoons)

Organisation description:

Outside The Box is a small, independent, not-for-profit community board games café in Bramhall. We opened in July 2024 with the aim of creating a welcoming place where people can meet others, make friends and feel part of a community. We use board games, roleplaying games and other social activities to bring people together, with a particular focus on people who may find it difficult to access more traditional social settings. Many people come to us on their own, including people who are socially isolated, neurodivergent or simply looking for somewhere friendly to meet new people. We run regular community activities including Chatty Café, social board gaming, Scrabble, Chess Club and Dungeons & Dragons, as well as activities for children and young people. We are a very small organisation, run by the two owners with support from volunteers and members of our community. Our volunteers help us make activities such as Chatty Café, Chess Club and Dungeons & Dragons welcoming, sociable and accessible. The emphasis is on helping people connect with others through shared interests in a friendly, inclusive and low-pressure environment.
