Volunteer Driver

We are looking for volunteer drivers who can take clients from the Marple area to medical appointments. The commitment is flexible and you can say when you will be available. You will receive a call when there is a requirement that you might be able to fulfil. Our drivers usually do 2/3 appointments per week, but that is entirely up to the individual how often they volunteer

Role

Full clean driving licence required. A DBS check will be undertaken at MCC cost. Ability to empathise with clients, be sociable, punctual and reliable

Organisation description:

We are a group of volunteers who provide transport to and from medical appointments for members of the public who live in the Marple area and who are what is known nowadays as 'vulnerable' (i.e., they tend to be amongst the elderly, infirm and/or disabled) and who have no transport of their own. Most of the appointments we cover are within the Stockport area, but they can also be further afield. We started in 1977 from the idea of a church member, hence the name, however, we are not a religious organisation and all clients and volunteers are welcome.
