Inclusive social groups - support needed

We are looking for friendly and supportive volunteers to help at our inclusive social groups for children and adults with disabilities.

Our groups aim to create welcoming, safe, and enjoyable spaces where people can connect, build friendships, and take part in social activities.

We run various groups and activities and always on the look out for extra hands!

We currently need support for the following weekly groups:

- Adults inclusive Karaoke group - Tuesdays 12 -2 pm
- Adults inclusive Arts and Crafts social group - Wednesdays 12 - 2pm
- Adults inclusive monthly disco - Fridays 7pm-9pm
- Toddlers play group - Mondays and Wednesdays 10-11.30am

Role

What You’ll Be Doing

-Supporting inclusive social activities and group sessions
-Helping people feel welcome, comfortable, and valued
-Encouraging social interaction and participation
-Supporting staff with group-based activities
-Helping set up and tidy up activity spaces

What We’re Looking For

-Friendly, patient, and approachable
-Good communication skills
-Respect for dignity, choice, and diversity
-Reliable and able to commit to weekly sessions if possible
-Experience is not essential — just a willingness to join in

Independent Options North West is a person-centred social care organisation supporting individuals to thrive within their communities. We work with children and adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and other complex support requirements, delivering tailored support that promotes choice, dignity, and empowerment. We provide inclusive social groups including an inclusive Toddler group, a weekly arts and craft session, Karaoke group and a monthly social disco that reduce isolation and build community connections. We also manage a respite service offering planned breaks for families and carers. Our services focus on developing life skills, building confidence, encouraging social inclusion, and ensuring individuals feel valued and supported in achieving their personal goals.
