We are an underfunded state provision for children with emotional, social and mental health needs. Volunteering with us means you are helping families in crisis in the Stockport area. We truly appreciate every minute of time donated to our cause and just want to create a nurturing safe space for our young people to feel they can come to and begin to re-engage in both education and society.

Role

We need someone with experience in commercial or portrait photography to come to the centre and help us create a bank of images of the centre including teaching, office and staff scenarios. Sensitivity, efficiency and discretion is key as we deal with vulnerable children on a daily basis who often do not like attention or strangers in their safe space. Photography will be credited whenever used.

Organisation description:

We are a government funded specialist centre in Stockport where local mainstream schools refer children with extreme social, emotional and mental health needs. Whilst we have limited space and resources, we are sadly in very high demand as so many high school students in the area struggle to cope with life. We help our young people feel safe, valid and heard, whilst teaching them coping mechanisms, life skills and keeping them engaged in education on a nurturing level. We always have maintenance and odd jobs that need doing but a lack of manpower so would appreciate any help by volunteers. From fixing equipment, to painting and decorating, if you think you can help, you probably can.
