Re-engage aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness in older people. As a volunteer driver, you can expect to collect 1-2 people and take them to a social gathering. Our volunteers are welcome to stay and chat over a brew before taking the same people back home.

Role

What the role involves: As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll help transport 1-2 people to a monthly social group in a choice of venues across Stockport and return them back home. In this rewarding role, the Driver is welcome to stay at the group, enjoy a chat and a brew, and try out the activities on offer. In this role, you’ll be making a positive difference in the lives of older people who are experiencing loneliness or isolation. Meet new people - By volunteering with Re-engage, you will be part of a small, friendly team of local volunteers. Essentials: A full UK driving license 3-4 hours once a month A reliable and friendly attitude.

You need to be 18+ for this role. Upon successful application, Re-engage will require an ID check, reference and online training to be completed prior to starting the role
