Independent Visitors provide a good, stable, adult role model for the young person. They visit the young person monthly, they befriend and listen to the young person take them out doing activities that they both enjoy. This is a long term commitment, training and on-going support is provided and out of pocket expenses are paid for mileage and activities.

Coram Voice is a national charity that works in a variety of different areas in order to support children and young people in care and care leavers. As part of this we run the Independent Visitor service in Stockport which provides volunteers who become reliable adult support for children in care by visiting and taking them out once a month.
