District Centre Event support

To work with Richard Daniels the District Centre Manager for Stockport Council to help support events and keeping District Centres tidy-it could be supporting activities at Worker Bee Markets for example or helping set up and act as a marshal during Xmas Light Switch on events, setting up gazebos and keeping people up to date with event activities and timescales. It could be to help with a Community Litter pick and to do some weeding or maintaining planters in the District Centres , leaflet drops/letter runs to traders to support updates. The role has already made a difference to various events and I'd be happy to talk through what we've done previously. There is no demand for a set number of days or hours it's just what you can offer. The role can be physical sometimes as setting up the gazebos can be a team effort!

Role

I'll supply hi-viz jackets and equipment such as litter pickers. As long as you can get to a location by public transport or walk if you are local you don't need access to a car as we meet at the event sites.

Organisation description:

Hi, I am a District Centre Manager for Stockport Council and my role is to support local businesses, make improvements to the appearance of the centres and to encourage and support events to increase footfall and help bring communities together in the District Centres. I manage 4 Centres but need some help in Edgeley and Hazel Grove. I'm trying to build a volunteer base to support events like Worker Bee Markets, Xmas Light Switch on, the occasional letter drop, marshalling events, setting up gazebos and doing some tidy up work on existing planters and occasional litter picks-you don't have to do all of this but any help gratefully received.
