District Centre Event support

To work with Richard Daniels the District Centre Manager for Stockport Council help support events and helping with keeping District Centres tidy-I've managed the Edgeley Xmas Light Switch on for example in November 2023 with 4 volunteers and need to build on this-the volunteers at this event helped set up gazebos and then helped man the road closure and marshalling of visitors and helped pack up and litter pick at the end. It could be to help with a Community Litter pick and to do some weeding or planting of the planters in the District Centres or doing leaflet drops/letter runs to traders to support updates and getting behind Worker Bee Markets for example. There is an event being planned for 6th July 2024 in Edgeley with a 'This is Edgeley' day to support traders and to shop local

Role

I'll supply hi-viz jackets and equipment such as litter pickers. Some of the work is physical if it's putting up a gazebo for example.

Hi, I am a District Centre Manager for Stockport Council and my role is to support local businesses, make improvements to the appearance of the centres and to encourage and support events to increase footfall and help bring communities together in the District Centres. I manage 4 Centres but need some help in Edgeley and Hazel Grove. I'm trying to build a volunteer base to support events like Worker Bee Markets, Xmas Light Switch on, the occasional letter drop, marshalling events, setting up gazebos and doing some tidy up work on existing planters and occasional litter picks-you don't have to do all of this but any help gratefully received.
