Role
Any volunteer can say no to a task they are uncomfortable with, or which may cause them harm or difficulties. We are open to trying new ways of doing a task if that is what works for you. A lot of how things work has come out of what works for our volunteers, and we are open to new ideas. - Volunteers set up the centre from 8.30 and brief at 9.30 - The centre is open to visitors from 10.00am - Lunch is served around 12.00 pm (teacakes or crumpets, all food and drinks are free) - Tidying up begins around 2.30pm - We close at 3.00 pm - After that volunteers will debrief before heading home for the day. Core tasks include: - Managing the refreshments table - Welcoming visitors. - Modelling behaviour by participating in activities. - Having a good chat with visitors. - Taking lunch orders - Serving Lunch - Setting the room up and tidying it away. Every day at Friendly Fridays is a little bit different so there is often something new to do. To apply we need only your name and contact information, we will then arrange for you to come visit us and we will work with you to put your skills to use. We are keen to support anyone who wishes to volunteer to bring their skills to Friendly Fridays and make it work for them. As such we don't ask for any particular skill or background from volunteers. We’re open to everyone including all ages and abilities, we strive to be as accessible as possible.
