• Creating a safe, welcoming and fun environment for our members to enter • Facilitating team building activities, games and topic tables • Being creative with games, tasks and topic tables to encourage conversations • Building positive relationships with young people across the youth zone • Working collaboratively with other members of staff and volunteers to support the delivery of sessions • Supporting young people with additional needs • Acting as a positive role model for young people • Promoting an inclusive culture where all young people are listened to, valued and cared for. You will gain new skills and develop existing ones whilst making a significant contribution to the lives of the young people. You will become part of our team and our young people will have a great time. You will enhance your CV whilst also being there as a positive role model to many of our young people. After 3 months of committed volunteering, a reference can be provided. The benefits really are endless!

Role

As a Volunteer Youth Worker, you will be engaging with our members as soon as they walk through the door, whether that be through leading topic tables or creating activities to encourage team building, confidence and conversations. This is a key area to build engagement and have those all important check in conversations with our young people!

We’re looking for someone who: • Has an interest or experience in youth work would be great but if not, a willingness to learn and passion to get involved • Enjoys meeting and engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds • Is organised and efficient • Shares the same values of HideOut • Is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people. • Please note that for this role you need to be at least 18 years of age and be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
