Role
This role is being a "Digital champion" - supporting people with online tasks, and helping people to feel more confident using computers. You may also be asked to help with food bank tasks too, such as updating information on the computer system, packing bags or handing out fresh food. This will help you to get to know other volunteers and food bank customers. Lots of the people we know at Chelwood food bank's Brinnington site often tell us that they struggle with using computers. They would love some help to do tasks such as looking up online information, using their phone or tablet, or filling in online forms. We will give you full training for this role. You do need to be confident talking to new people – you may be starting conversations over a brew, and you may be helping people who are struggling - we'll give you support and help you to help other people if you are worried about them. You will need a patient and friendly personality! We are looking for 2-3 volunteers, so you won't need to volunteer every week unless you want to. This role will be on Wednesdays 1.30pm – 2.30pm. Address is The Lighthouse Centre, Northumberland Road, Brinnington, SK5 8LS.When:
Wednesdays 1.30pm – 3pm
