No prior experience necessary, just need to be prepared to spend most of a day outdoors in potentially poor wintery weather and to ensure runners: 1) Park considerately 2) Know where to register and how to get there 3) Follow the correct course Volunteers will be able to choose a role from Course set up and take down, car parking duty, or course marshal. Marshals will need to be able to communicate well with runners visiting the event, to direct them to e.g. first aid, toilets, registration. There are five races during the day, each with slightly different courses, so course marshals will need to be able to understand course maps and move tape and markers as required to ensure runners don't go the wrong way.When:

Organisation description:
Stockport Harriers and & AC is Stockport's only athletics and endurance running club with a dedicated 400m track facility and has its beginning back as far as 1887. The club has around 400 members and caters for athletes at all levels with current members aged from 7 to 80, from recreational to international standard, with a wide range of coaching groups members can join to help them progress. Our facility is in the beautiful Woodbank Park and events the club puts on for the wider community - like the Primary Schools' Cross Country league, and Stockport10 race - make good use of both the athletics track itself and the parkland surrounding it. The club welcomes all regardless of age or experience, including a training group for people with disabilities, who are often excluded from sports activities.
